Gina had a great idea to include fondue one night with our wine tasting experience. I happened to have gotten a fondue set about 3 years ago or so for Christmas and had yet to even take it out of the box. So I rummaged through my memory of where I may have stuffed this present I never used and actually found it. I cleaned it up and we were all set to go. I actually felt a little elegant and somewhat sophisticated getting the fondue set up and wine glasses out. I had never had or "done" fondue before even at a restaurant so this was a truly brand new experience for me.
Gina cooked everything (thank goodness because I would have had no clue what to make or where to start) and brought it over. We had a really fun and easy going night sipping wine and dipping pretzels and meats into the cheese dip that she made. My favorite was the pretzels, but that is more than likely because I'm not much of a steak eater. I will let Gina post up a link to the cheese recipe she made for the night.
The wine chosen for the night was a red wine from Apothic. This has fast become my favorite red wine. It tastes wonderful and is fairly inexpensive at usually $9.99 a bottle.
Give their website a look they have some interesting products that you can buy. I wasn't aware that people bought apparel with their wine labels on there, I thought it was only beer, but to each their own I guess.
Apothic also has a Rose flavor that we purchased one night and tried. Stick with the red or the white I wouldn't be able to give the rose flavor a thumbs up. If you are looking for a blush or rose wine I would go with a different choice.
